Abstract submission online
Participants should submit their abstracts online using the online abstract submission facility and follow the instructions listed below.

The abstract submission facility for ESCAP 2011 has been closed on 20 January 2011.


Presentation types
The following presentation types will be available for presenters. The preferred presentation type can be selected in the online abstract submission form.

Main themes
The following main themes will be discussed during the ESCAP 2011 congress among possible other themes. During the online abstract submission, the following alphabetical list of main themes will be given to categorise each abstract mainly for reviewing purposes.

Length of the abstracts
The abstracts must be written in English. Abstracts should include a title which is limited to maximum of 150 characters. The abstract text should preferably be divided into subtopics, e.g. background, aim(s), materials and methods, results and conclusions. The maximum number of characters for the abstract text is 2000 characters, including possible references, however, excluding author information, which is collected separately on the abstract submission form.

Terms and conditions for abstract submission
• Abstracts must be prepared according to the instructions.
• Authors of the abstracts are responsible for the spelling and appearance of their contribution. The organisers will not correct the content.
• Incomplete or incorrect submissions will not be reviewed and processed.
• All accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract Book and they will be presented during the congress, provided that at least one author has registered and completed the payment for the congress by 15 April 2011.

Disclosure
The ESCAP requests speakers, chairs and poster presenters to disclose potential conflicts of interest. Speakers are requested to disclose potential conflicts of interest regarding their current presentation in the first slide of their presentation. Chairs are requested to disclose potential conflict of interest regarding the topics of the presentations during their session in the first slide of the session.

Poster presenters are requested to disclose potential conflicts of interest regarding their current poster presentation at the bottom of their poster. This will allow the audience to take potential conflicts of interest into account when assessing the objectivity of the presentation. Potential conflicts of interest can involve: grants, honoraria, shares, paid positions on advisory boards, etc.

Editing of submitted abstracts
Editing of submitted abstracts is possible until 20 January 2011. To edit your original abstract submission you will need the link to the abstract editing facility as well as your abstract reference number and password, which are all found in the acknowledgement e-mail of your original abstract submission.

Evaluation of abstracts
The abstracts will be evaluated by the programme committee and corresponding authors will be informed by e-mail about the decision to accept or reject the abstract by 14 March 2011.

Oral presentations
Final details on the duration of the oral presentations will be informed to those authors, whose abstract is accepted for oral presentation.

Poster presentations
Maximum size of poster presentations will be limited to 90 cm x 120 cm (width x height). The presenting author is responsible for setting up and removing the poster at given times to be specified.

Registration and publication of abstracts
Abstract submissions will not be published without registration of at least one of the authors. At least the presenting author must register and pay the congress fee. The deadline for early registration with lower registration fees is 31 March 2011 and the very final deadline for author registrations is 15 April 2011, however, with the higher registration fees.
